There is alot of misinformation about acne out there, so today we are going to clue you in on some acne myths, with the help of a site called acne.com.

Myth #1 - Many people believe that acne is caused when your skin is dirty.

As the site reveals dirt has nothing to do with it and overwashing your skin can actually cause your skin to create even more oil, which in turn creates an acne prone situation.

Myth #2 - Acne only troubles teenagers.

I am living proof that this isn’t true. I had almost no acne until I hit my late twenties, early thirties.

Myth #3 Spot treatments are a good way to treat your acne.

Wrong again. You need to treat the cause not the symptoms. Get to the root of the problem so you don’t have a problem.

Myth #4 Eating chocolate can cause acne.

I am jumping up and down cheering that this one isn’t true. Although eating a healthy diet can help your skin, eating the “wrong” foods won’t cause you to break out.

Here is a quick step by step guide to applying your undereye concealer:

1) Apply the concealer in three dots in the crease below your eye

2) Take one finger and pat those three dots in until they are blended well - never rub!

That is it. Your shadows should dissapear.

P.S. If your eyes are puffy, apply a spoon that has been in your refridgerator for about 15 minutes. Do this before you apply our concealer. This should reduce puffiness in about 5 minutes.

In most cases I recommend a reasonable diet and excercize to lose weight. I was brought up with the everything in moderation mentality and denial is not a word I am big on. But there are cases where diet and excercize just aren’t enough and surgery should be considered. If this is something that you are thinking of doing here is a obesity surgery that is a lot less invasive than the rest. It is called Lap-Band surgery and is the only surgery of its type that is fairly non invasive, you are in and out the same day, and is completely reversable.

The way it works is that they make a series of small incisions in your abdoman and place a band around the upper part of your stomach. This insures that you get full alot quicker as only a small amount of food will comfortably fit in your stomach. The doctor is able to go in and adjust this for your comfort level and can reverse the procedure if it is truly not for you.

As with any diet method, consult with your primary physician to see if it is right for you. Then take a really good look at why you want the surgery. Is it truly for health benefits or because you actually believe those air brushed pictures you see in the magazines? If it is the latter work on your self esteem first and then make a clear decision.
