Easy Steps to a Flawless Face
September 26, 2008 No Comments
We all have wished for the perfect, porcelain skin at one time or another. But staring wistfully at the model in the magazine won’t get us the face we dream for (news flash: its called airbrushing and a pound of make-up).
Instead, it takes a few lifestyle changes, but most importantly, it takes finding the right make-up for your face. Beauty blogs have started buzzing about Clinique beauty products for a flawless face. One in particular is the Clinique blended face powder, which helps to smooth out discoloration and other imperfections on the face.
However, there are a few other factors that will affect that way your face looks.
-
Trade in those soft drinks for water. No matter how boring it is (add some Crystal Light or other flavors to spice it up), hydration is crucial to your skin’s health.
-
Wash your face religiously. Some skin types will get too dry if washed more than once a day, others will require you to do it at least twice a day. Figure out what will get your skin to your optimum health and then stick to the plan.
-
Figure out what type of base works for your face. Clinique beauty products offer all types for the face: foundation, pressed powder, and blended powder among others. Find what works best for your face because each skin type and tone will react differently to foundation versus powder.
Clinique beauty products are just one line that can get you the flawless face you have always wanted. Keep in mind that other influences such as diet and exercise will affect your face, and remember that when choosing your make-up. Above all, have fun with it!
beauty adviceBeauty Tips: Make Those Eyes Pop!
September 24, 2008 No Comments
One of the most fun parts about applying makeup is the cool tricks you can do to your eyes. However, it also can be the trickiest part about applying makeup! So let’s talk about some eye makeup tips that will save you time and stop the worrying.
Don’t you hate how an hour after you put on your eye makeup it starts to crease and smudge? Well, check out Urban Decay’s newest product called Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This miracle product is meant to be applied as a base before you put on your full eye makeup. It then holds your makeup in place hours longer than it would without the primer potion. Beauty reviews have already started talking about this as one of the best eye makeup tips ever!
As for other eye makeup tips, here are some to ensure that your eyes stand out and get you noticed. Start with outlining your lids with the eyeliner color of your choice.
- Combine light, medium, and dark colors of eye shadow.
- Use the medium color for your lid, the darker color for the crease, and the lightest color for the upper lid. Your eyes will pop!
- Finish off your eyes with mascara to complete the look.
- Follow these eye makeup tips to get noticed, and most of all to have fun with it!
Alli Diet Pill Review - Save Your Money Folks
September 21, 2008 No Comments
Is the Alli diet pill worth the hype? Diet and exercise is on the minds of most women and I am no exception. I like to keep my ears open to what is new on the diet scene. There is a new pill locked behind plastic doors in the drugstore. Well don’t get sucked into this advertisers plot to make you think unattainable is better.
The side effects of the Alli Diet pill are downright nasty. The only way that I can actually see someone losing weight with this diet pill is actually do to the nastiest of all of its side effects. It gives you a case of uncontrollable runs. Yep you will spend more time in the bathroom by the second day of taking this awful stuff than you did for the entire month before - if you even make it to the bathroom that is.
The only sensible thing this diet plan tells you to do is to eat healthy and exercise. Well, who among us doesn’t know that? The obese nature of our culture is clearly not due to ignorance. We just happen to like our burgers and fries and spend too much time sitting down either due to our jobs or because there are too many new shows on tv. So even on this front Alli is a dudd. There is no new information to be had here. So unless you like sprinting to the toilet, save your money and make a conscious decision to eat healthier and sprint around the couch instead.

beauty adviceBeauty Advice for Teens: Hot Tips for Perfect Lips
September 8, 2008 No Comments
Everyone wants to show the world a beautiful face, and what gets noticed the most is probably your lips. If you’re getting ready to go out on a date, have an important event to attend, or just want to get dolled up for a night out with your girlfriends, having gorgeous, sexy lips is a must.
Perfect for teens, Lancome Juicy Tubes Rose Fishnets Lip Gloss allows for gorgeous lips without a blast of color; it simply adds shine with hints of gold. One of my favorite bits of beauty advice for teens is to keep the lip gloss handy. You’ll never know when you will want to give your lips a little extra shine for that perfect smile.
Lip gloss can be applied by itself or over the top of your regular lipstick. Either way, it will give your lips a more dramatic look. That’s a bit of beauty advice for teens that’s worth reading about!
-
When applying lip gloss to your lips, be sure to start in the middle of your top
lip, working your way down to the corners.
-
Avoid going all the way to the corners, because as your lip color wears off
throughout the day, it can accumulate there and be very unattractive!
-
Repeat on the bottom lip, applying the gloss about halfway on each side of
your lip.
Following these steps will give you a great look and some beauty advice for teens that you can pass along to your friends. Beauty reviews everywhere seem to agree that using lip gloss is a great way to emphasize what may be the most eye-catching part of your face; your beautiful smile.

September 5, 2008 No Comments
What makes Jennifer Anistan so beautiful? Well although I believe that most of her beauty comes from within, there are one or two beauty techniques that she regularly uses to accentuate her sparkling personality. Here are a few of the strategies that she uses to keep up her All American beauty image:
- She routinely uses a bronzer on her skin, applied lightly, to give her that sunkissed look.
- She drinks tons of water and even represents a bottled water company.
- She highlights her hair. Highlighting dark hair can give you an instant boost. It makes your face appear brighter and can even make you look younger.
- She whitens her teeth. White teeth will take years off of your face.
How to Shape Your Eyebrows
September 4, 2008 No Comments
The shape of your eyebrows can make a world of difference to your overall appearance. Well groomed eyebrows can make your eyes look brighter and more awake and can even help you look younger or more sophisticated depending on your arch. Look at how Angelina Jolie’s well shaped brows and you’ll realize one of her personal beauty secrets.
There are various methods of removing unwanted or stray hairs from your eye brow line:
- Waxing - eye brow waxing is quick but can be painful and can leave the area red and puffy for a few hours. It is in my opinion the fastest and least precise method of removing hair. You really need to be careful that you only take off the hair that needs to be taken.
- Stringing - This method is a bit more precise but some claim that it is just as painful as waxing. Basically with this method you use a thread to pluck out individual hairs quickly. I prefer this method to waxing because it does not usually leave the accompanying redness.
- Plucking - the slowest method of eye brow shaping but also the most precise. It will take you longer to pluck each strand but if done carefully you are less likely to overpluck.
- Laser hair removal - this should be done by a professional and is the most costly but the results stay a lot longer.
The object of eye brow shaping is to remove unwanted hair while keeping the shape of your brows. You basically want to get the stray hairs the creep in below your brow line and the stray hairs that develop over the brow line while keeping your natural shape.
Beauty Cosmetic Guide offers a step by step process on how to shape your eyebrows. They tell you exactly how to get those gorgeous arches that we all love.

September 3, 2008 No Comments
If you’ve got hair that is anything like mine, you see a challenge in the mirror every morning. My stylist, a fabulous young man who cuts my hair wonderfully, has recently convinced me to stop washing my hair so often. Yes, that’s right, to wash it less!
Not only has this given me more time in the morning by cutting down on the length of my showers every other day (and hey! It’s green!), but my hair actually looks better. It’s not burdened with over-clean hair which is a signal to the hair follicles that it needs to make even more oil! In addition, since my hair looks so great, I’ve found that I have more of a desire to spend time with it.
I recently picked up some tips on just how to style my hair, without spending TONS of time on it. I’m pretty busy, and can’t really spend lots of time in front of the bathroom mirror every day, so using these tips has helped me to cut down on my style-time.
- Start with a good shampoo (every other day, of course). If it’s not a hair-washing day, a good rinse in the shower is enough.
- Before blow drying, apply volumizing spray – Oscar Blandi Volumizing Spray is my favorite, – to sections of hair. Separate the sections with either a hair brush or by flipping over and separating parts of your hair with your fingers.
- Blow dry your hair, again going in sections, applying a bit more volumizing spray at the roots when you’re done.
- Finish up with hair spray, serum, or a balm, depending on the look you are going for.
- Blow your great hair (and yourself) a kiss in the mirror and go get ‘em!
It is that easy to style your hair and look great!
Sincerely, Caterina P.S. I found a great hair care site that tells you the right way to wash your hair for optimum results.

September 2, 2008 No Comments
Looking for some basic makeup advice? Well, you’ve come to the right place! When applying makeup, there are some simple steps that almost everyone should follow. They are easy, relaxing, and end with you looking your best!
Basic makeup advice:
1.Clean your skin with a gentle, alcohol-free cleanser. This will help remove any dirt, build-up or environmental residues you might have on the surface of your skin.
2.Tone! A nice, light toner helps to reduce any excess oil you have on your face.
3.Moisturize. Use a cream that is made for the delicate skin of your face; it is lighter in texture and won’t drag your skin down by the end of the day. Any good beauty reviews you read will tell you to moisturize. Choose one with some sunscreen in it, too.
4.Apply some primer. Sephora makes the Tricks of the Trade Perfection Primer, which helps to brighten and give your skin a warm glow. Designed as a highlighter base, it has pink pearlescent micro-particles and soft-focus pigments that reflect the light for that warm glow you’re looking for. A primer is a good product to add to your beauty regimen, since it helps ensure makeup application and makes your makeup last longer!
5.If you’re using a foundation, go ahead and apply this next. Blush follows, then eye shadow, liner, mascara, and lips.
Whether you’re going all-out and applying makeup to your whole face for a night out on the town or are toning it down for the office or a trip to the zoo, following this basic makeup advice will help your makeup last longer and keep your face fresh all day long.
