Honey Facial Mask - Easy 3 step solution
August 28, 2008 No Comments
Since we discussed honey as a beauty treatment yesterday, today I am going to give you a simple 3 step honey facial mask solution.
- Take a warm towel and apply it to your face to open your pores.
- Spread honey on your face and leave it there for a minute or two. Avoid the eye areas.
- Wash off with cold wet towels. This will close your pours.
Then just apply your normal moisturizer. This is a simple way to exfoliate your skin and leave it feeling and looking fantastic.

August 27, 2008 No Comments
The latest question posted was about honey and hair. Apparently there are a lot of “all natural” hair care products that claim to have honey in them. Now I know that I have mentioned that honey is a good exfoliant and has great antibacterial properties but as a hair care ingredient, it leaves a lot to be desired.
Honey is sticky. What you want is a product that leaves your hair smooth. Honey will not do this. Plus it is difficult to get out of your hair. Go to the old standbys for your hair - natural oils as a conditioner maybe or a beer rinse to give your hair body.
Use honey to exfoliate your skin. Combine it with an oil base and the natural sugars will exofliate your skin leaving it feeling silky smooth.

August 21, 2008 No Comments
Strong healthy nails are a priority for most women. Sure you can paint them and buff them but if they break off at the merest flick of your finger, what is the point?
Getting strong healthy nails starts from within. Brittle nails can be a sign that you are not getting enough protein and vitamins. Fortunately this is easy enough to correct.
Up your protein intake.
Add B vitamins, vitamin A, calcium, zinc, iodine and iron to your diet. You can generally get all of these from a good multi-vitamin.
I have also found a great nail and skin supplement from Perricone that can make a huge difference in the look and feel of both your skin and your nails - N.V. Perricone, M.D. Skin and Total Body Nutritional Supplements This is the supplement that I personally use and after about two weeks it made my nails, well strong as nails.
Here is a great video that I found about how to get strong healthy nails:
Having healthy attractive nails is easy. It just takes a bit of planning.
Homemade Cellulite Cream
August 20, 2008 No Comments
Although there are tons of cellulite cream products out there, some of you have requested a homemade cellulite cream recipe. So I went searching and found a recipe for home made cellulite cream that uses a combination of fennel oil and rosemary Mix these two ingredients together and apply daily to minimize the look of cellulite.
Another site recommended using damp coffee grinds on those problem areas. Wrap your coffee covered thighs with cellophane and leave on for about twenty minutes. I have actually had this treatment at spas before so I tend to place a bit more faith in it. It will not eliminate cellulite but it will make it a lot less noticeable. I recommend do this treatment at least once a week.
One site that I stumbled upon claims that the toxins in our food is partially to blame for the build up of cellulite and that by eating organic foods and drinking lots of water you can begin to eliminate this problem. It couldn’t hurt either way right?
Ridding yourself of Cellulite is a life long battle and even the most expensive jars of cellulite creams won’t cure it. Whether you use the homemade cellulite cream or the store brands consistency is key. Use them at least weekly and drink plenty of waters to flush out the toxins.

August 15, 2008 No Comments
I know that we normally talk about makeup and skin care and hair styles but a truly beautiful person works on themselves from the inside out, and I am not just talking about drinking more water and taking your vitamins. So today we are going to talk about some things you can do to improve yourself in a way that will give you a natural glow:
1) Take classes in something you have always had a passion for.
2) Actually have a sit down meal, with real china and candles. Treat yourself well and others will as well.
3) Have a day of pampering at least once a week. This is your day to meditate, while you exfoliate.
4) Take a tip from Nicole Graham and Tara Spicer and keep a journal. I personally journal every day but instead of writing down my worries, I write down at least one good thing that happened that day. Even on your worst day you can find one good thing, even if it is just having had a good cup of coffee.
5) Donate your time to someone less fortunate.
6) Listen to music that really moves you.
7) Tap into your creative side with art or writing.
Taking care of yourself means taking care of every part of you so work on your inner beauty too.
5 Quick Tips for Clearer Skin
August 12, 2008 No Comments
Getting smooth skin is easier than you think. It just takes some consistent skin care habits like:
1) Wash your skin once in the morning and once at night with a mild skin cleanser. Look at your skin type and choose appropriately. If you tend to have reactions to most products pick a mild cleanser. If you have dry skin, pick one that has moisturizers.
2) Exfoliate once or twice a week. Your skin will tell you what is enough and what is too much. Exofliating more than this will irritate your skin.
3) Use an appropriate moisturizer. If you have oily or t-zone skin, look for moisturizers designed for your skin type.
4) Use a facial mask once a week. I look to use mine on Fridays about an hour before going out. That way my skin looks fresh for the weekend. You could also do this on Sunday night to make your skin look fabulous for work the next day.
5) Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily. This helps flush out the toxins and leaves your skin looking and feeling hydrated.
6) Eat blueberries . They are high in anti-oxidents and will keep your skin looking younger longer.
7) Get a professional facial with extractions done once a month. If you are taking care of your skin the rest of the month, this shouldn’t be too painful. A licensed skin care technician will be able to get to those spots that you can’t with the least amount of irritation possible.

Hi all
Do you have a birthday or anniversary coming up? Any celebration where champagne is involved will do. If you can manage to save a cup of the bubbly, you are in for a rare treat. Take that remaining champagne and mix it with hot water ( one cup of water per one cup of champagne). Go wash your hair, as usual. Then pour the champagne over your hair, catching it in a bowl if you can. Re-rinse it with this mix two to three times and blow dry as usual.
The champagne will give your hair a lovely natural shine and you will feel luxurious just performing this ritual.
Try it for yourself.
Sincerely,

April 16, 2008 No Comments
It is a well known no-no to ever sleep in your makeup. You know to have a healthy face and skin that you must remove your makeup every night. One of the trickiest parts of make up removal is removing eye makeup. Without an eye makeup remover you will have a hard time getting all the eyeliner, mascara and eye shadow off completely.
A good eye makeup remover should be gentle on your eyes and skin, but do a good job at completely removing all the makeup. You want to look for something like Bare Escentuals bareEyes - Eye Makeup Remover 4 oz . I have checked this out and it has also had some amazing beauty reviews. I like it because it’s gentle and effectively removes all traces of eye makeup with its combination of remover and moisturizer.
To remove eye makeup you have to be careful. Keep in mind that the skin surrounding your eye area is pretty fragile. So here are the basics.
- Start with a cotton ball and your eye makeup remover.
- Gentle wipe your eye, inner corner to outer, until all makeup is removed.
- Be sure to replace the soiled cotton ball with a clean one if needed.
- Try to avoid pulling at your eye or rubbing it. This can cause irritation and damage to the skin around the eye.
Eye makeup remover is something you must have in your collection of beauty items. You need to avoid the temptation of using the same cleaner you use on your face to clean your eye makeup because it is often too harsh and damaging for the eye area. Get a good eye make remover and use it everyday to keep your eyes healthy and looking amazing.
