Celebrities and Plastic Surgery

Celebrities fascinate everyone yet they fascinate the public more when a it is suggested that they have just had plastic surgery is brought to their attention.  You and I have all seen the headlines in the tabloids while waiting in line at the grocery store. Celebrities are obviously the most photographed people in the world so it is easy to get a before and after picture while also noticing their absence from the public eye.  There are some celebrities who deny plastic surgery at all lengths while other celebrities are more upfront.  Others deny full out plastic surgeries but they do admit to having surgery in order to correct an error which is mostly an admission of having plastic surgery performed.

One of the celebrities most known for his plastic surgery is Michael Jackson.  He has had numerous plastic surgeries, which he has denied vehemently.  However, there are notable differences in his appearance and television specials that document his plastic surgery journey by having plastic surgeons assess his photographs and music videos throughout time.  He is most known for trying to achieve the perfect nose, which many speculate has left him with a deteriorating nose tip which he infamously tried to cover up with a band aid.

Since the tender age of 16, it has been reported that Britney Spears had received breast implants.  Since then she has somewhat openly shown her interest in plastic surgery especially for her comeback.  It has been reported that she is willing to spend up to $200,000 on revamping her entire appearance with a super combination of tummy tucks, breast implants, chemical peels, Botox injections, liposuction, collagen lip injections, cosmetic dental work and chin work.  For such a beautiful girl it is hard to imagine what she actually needs to improve on.

Other celebrities have openly opened their experiences up to the public eye by having their plastic surgery documented on by television reality shows.  The latest celebrity to join the latest crave of being featured in a plastic surgery reality show is Bridgette Nielson, the ex wife of Sylvester Stallone.  Her show has taken place in Germany where the entire process was documented.  She has announced that she wants to look about fifteen years younger. In order to achieve her new ideal age she has decided to have a face lift, a breast lift, an eye lift, liposuction and fat injections.

The famous Simpson sisters are also targets of the plastic surgery circuit.  Big Sis, Jessica, has admitted to having collagen injections in her lips which she commented that they were very unnatural looking and was glad that the effects wore off after only four months.  However, many people are once again speculating that the former reality star has ventured into increasing the size of her pouty lips.

Little Sis, Ashley, had been in denial for a long time about her rhinoplasty but has finally embraced the plastic surgery she had done.  She reportedly said she just had her nostrils opened for better breathing purposes but finally announced it was to fix her crooked nose.  She has also been quoted as wanting to have butt implants but she has denied that she would ever get them and her comment was taken out of context that it was just a joke taken too far by the media.

Plastic surgery is something that celebrities have embraced, and if it is something that you want to do to enhance your appearance that is your choice. Just do it for the right reasons. And realize that even with the plastic surgery, these celebs have a team of makeup artists and photo editing. In truth even what you see on tv and in the magazines is not the real deal.

Lip Augmentation Secrets Revealed

Just about every woman wants the luscious look of Angelina Jolie’s lips.  The good news is that it is possible with lip augmentation.  Women are particularly prone to this type of cosmetic surgery but a few men have also been known to have lip augmentation performed as well.  There are various ways as to how lip augmentation can be performed.  Many people do go under the knife to have them perfectly shaped while others prefer to have them injected with a temporary substance.   Normally collagen is used and many celebrities are known to have had collagen lip injections such as Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Dolly Parton and many more.

If you choose to have lip injections the process is relatively quick and painless.  A local anesthesia is given to the patient and then one of the various types of substances that can be injected are used.  These substances include collagen, fat, artecoll, dermalogen, autologen, restylane, hylaform and fascia.  With this choice of lip augmentation the patient will be able to go home on the same day.  These injections are normally temporary and therefore to maintain the same look, one will have to continuously have the injection about every three to eight months.

If you are more interested in a long term type of lip augmentation, than you can go under the knife by having different types of substances implanted into your lips.  Once again the surgery is rather simple and you will be released the same day.  The operation on average takes about two hours to complete and you will be given a local anesthesia.  There are four main options which plastic surgeons use as their basis for performing a lip augmentation.

The first type of cosmetic surgery is with the use of alloderm.  Alloderm is made from collagen of deceased persons that is placed into the lip region with small incision made on the inner lip.  The second type of surgery is by using fat grafting.  This is when the plastic surgeon uses your own fat to be inserted into your lips.  This method sometimes offers permanent results but the patient should be aware that it is possible for the body to reabsorb the fat making the results temporary.  Another surgery that plastic surgeons use while using the patients own body is to use local flap grafts.  This method is rather intense and is preferred not to be used unless absolutely necessary.  With this method the plastic surgeon uses the patient’s skin and tissue from the mouth to enhance the lips.  A more permanent type of surgery is by using synthetic materials to be inserted into the lips such as soft ePTFE, Gore Tex or SoftForm.

Normally the recovery of the patient is rather quick.  There is often some swelling and soreness but this is temporary and leaves the bodies about 72 hours after the surgery is performed.  Those patients who decide to have lip augmentation using the synthetic options will normally have a recovery rate of about two weeks.

Lip augmentation is definitely a popular cosmetic surgery among people and one of the few cosmetic touch ups that is reasonably priced.

Advantages of Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is all the craze nowadays but that does not mean that everyone should receive it.  Some operations are risky while others are simply unnecessary.  Sometimes plastic surgery has received a negative reputation from these surgeries and many stereotypes for the people who have received the different types of surgeries.  However, there are many advantages to these types of surgeries.  The most beneficial advantage is that plastic surgery often gives the patient self esteem.

It may seem unbelievable that plastic surgery boosts confidence, but let’s look at a few examples of how plastic surgery would boost one’s confidence.  Many people often go to plastic surgeons for tummy tucks.  Tummy tucks are advantageous for people who have given birth, lost a substantial amount of weight or have stretch marks in the stomach region.  Some of these events can be taken care of with the use of dieting and exercise.  Nevertheless, many people cannot get rid of these things and become very self conscious.  When summer rolls around, many people may avoid going to he beach or pool because they do not want others to see them, making them very self conscious.  The advantage of tummy tucks is that they offer self confidence to people who are embarrassed of showing off their stomach.

Many people rely on their physical attractiveness and their obsession of remaining young.  Sometimes the bags under people’s eyes are not the most attractive sight nor the crows feet at the side of the eyes.  To look better and feel better while looking at oneself can be resolved by performing a procedure called blepharoplasty or what is normally known as eyelid tightening.  This procedure is very advantageous for those patients who want to look younger by erasing some lines.

Some men have enlarged breasts and this is a problem for most men.  Besides the initial embarrassment, these enlarged breasts can also encourage breast cancer in men.  Therefore, even though a breast removal is advantageous for the man in terms of confidence a breast reduction is also advantageous to keep him healthy and cancer free.

There are multiple advantages of plastic surgery whether it be to gain self confidence, lower the risk of unhealthy diseases or to just feel better about oneself.  Individuality is a great characteristic yet some people seem to feel out of place in all aspects of life.  Appearance does not need to be one of these factors.  The advantages of plastic surgery do include fitting in to the population with one’s physical appearance as well as being able to easily mix in with other people.  Plastic surgery may seem superficial but it is a rather sensitive subject for those who truly need the operation.

Just make sure that if you are considering one of these procedures that you are doing it for the right reasons. Use it as a tool to look better not as a cure for low self esteem. Many plastic surgery facilities employ counselors now to help you make sure that you are having these procedures for cosmetic touch ups and not as a band aid for emotional issues.
