Need Acne Advice?

There are plenty of beauty reviews, websites and columns written on acne advice. It is a problem that many think of as an adolescent concern, but the truth is that even adults can suffer from acne.

One of the main causes of acne is hormones. Women fall prey to acne because of the fluctuating hormones associated with our monthly cycle. Hormonal changes can produce excess oil which clogs pores and creates acne.

The best acne advice will suggest that you develop a skin care routine so that you can keep your pores clean and clear to prevent acne. A good acne prevention routine involves a few different steps.

  1. Start with cleansing the skin. It is best to use a cleanser that is for your skin type.

  1. Next you should exfoliate. Be careful to only use products developed for your face or you could end up with irritation. DDF-Doctor’s Dermatologic Formula Glycolic Exfoliating Wash 5% 8 oz is a great choice that is gentle yet effective.

  1. After exfoliating you should use a toner that will help to get any deep down impurities out of your pores.

  1. Lastly, moisturize with a lotion made for the face. Other types of lotions will clog pores.

If you have existing acne you should treat it with a good acne clearing medication. Be careful to avoid products that over dry your skin as this causes excess oil production and more acne problems.

This skin care routine should help to keep your acne under control. If you are having serious problems, though, you should consult your dermatologist for acne advice.

Quick Acne Pimple Fix

Acne Pimple Remedies straight from your pantry or medicine cabinet.

Have a sudden one or two pimple flare up but don’t have your usual acne medication in the house? Try dabbing a bit of toothpaste on it.  Toothpaste generally has alcohol in it which will dry up that impromptu pimple. Now this doesn’t fix the cause of the acne but if you have that hot date that night and don’t have time to run to the drugstore that day this may be your answer.

If you feel a pimple about to flare up the night before a big event this works even better because you can sleep with the paste on that spot the whole night without worrying about having toothpaste on your face.

Another natural way to deal with pimples, if toothpaste is too abrasive for your skin is to dab a bit of honey on the problem spot. Honey is a natural antiseptic and can also be used to dry out one or two acne spots.

Try these simple acne solutions for yourself. Remember to try any skin solution on a very small patch of skin first to make sure that you don’t have any personal adverse reactions. Everyone’s skin is different. See what works for you.

Acne Treatments and Big Pore Solutions

Hi all

Does acne or big pores have you hiding behind a ton of concealer? Well I have found a solution that really works to both conceal minor imperfections and actually help heal your skin. The result is skin that actually glows.

Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel Decadent is an absolutely amazing product that both my sister and I are hooked on.

What is it: “A multitasking all-in-one vitamin enriched, sweat-resistant and water-resistant skin perfector.”

What does it do?: “It improves skin tone, reduce redness, and help minimize the appearance of enlarged pores and fine lines… alpha lipoic acid, and vitamins A and E to help repair, protect, and fight future environmental skin damage, this lightweight gel helps maintain hydration leaving the skin with a healthy, even glow by locking in moisture and absorbing excess skin oils” This stuff is so light that you forget that you have it on in seconds. And it looks natural - your skin only so much better. Now when you put it on your fingers to apply it, it looks darker than your natural skin color but once you apply it, it blends in extremely well. When you apply it correctly ( just follow the directions) no one will be able to tell that you have it on. I didn’t know my sister was using it until she let me in on the secret. I just thought her skin looked amazing.

Anyway, that is my review and recommendation for the day. Try it and let me know what you think.

Sincerely,

Acne Myths Revealed

Hi all

There is alot of misinformation about acne out there, so today we are going to clue you in on some acne myths, with the help of a site called acne.com.

Myth #1 - Many people believe that acne is caused when your skin is dirty.

As the site reveals dirt has nothing to do with it and overwashing your skin can actually cause your skin to create even more oil, which in turn creates an acne prone situation.

Myth #2 - Acne only troubles teenagers.

I am living proof that this isn’t true. I had almost no acne until I hit my late twenties, early thirties.

Myth #3 Spot treatments are a good way to treat your acne.

Wrong again. You need to treat the cause not the symptoms. Get to the root of the problem so you don’t have a problem.

Myth #4 Eating chocolate can cause acne.

I am jumping up and down cheering that this one isn’t true. Although eating a healthy diet can help your skin, eating the “wrong” foods won’t cause you to break out.
